Why would I need a notary during a closing?
Because a closing is a stack of documents that must be witnessed and stamped, and several of them are worthless without it. Deeds, powers of attorney and affidavits all need a notary present at signing.
What does a mobile notary change?
Where the signing happens. A seller who has already moved out of state, a buyer who cannot get to the title office, an elderly owner who cannot travel. The notary goes to them instead.
